About Us
The Director of Aviation is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the City Manager of Tallahassee, who is appointed by the Tallahassee City Commission. There are approximately 64 full-time and part-time employees for the aviation department, grouped under five divisions: Management, Business Services, Finance and Administration, Facilities Management, Operations, and Capital Projects. The City's Police and Fire Departments provide law enforcement and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Services at the Tallahassee Regional Airport.
Management provides overall direction and guidance for the Airport. Responsibilities include: monitoring and responding to federal, state, and local requirements; meeting passenger service demands and expectations; business development; community relations; strategic planning; and providing safe and efficient airport operations.

Business Services is responsible for lease management, concessions, restaurants, tenant relations, marketing, research, and demographic reporting and analysis.

Finance is responsible for financial management, planning, development, grant administration, budgeting, and administrative support for the Airport's various programs.

Airport Advisory Committee
This committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Tallahassee City Commission and to the Aviation Department, on issues presented to the committee related to the operation and promotion of Tallahassee Regional Airport, economic development opportunities and activities prompted by its presence and functions.
The Airport Advisory Committee consists of 18 members recommended by the Mayor and appointed by the City Commission.
